Do/Don't Essay

It's interesting how much we unknowingly allow people to take control over what we say, the things we do, and potentially, our entire lives. Honestly, the hardest things about it is, 1. Deciding their not important enough to control you and 2. Trying not to laugh at how ridiculous the other person looks getting worked up over not getting a reaction.

My Do's and Don't's for this simple thought process :

Do: Remember that they honestly aren't worth it. So why would you waste your breath, time, or even thoughts on a person who clearly doesn't have the brain capacity to contemplate what you're saying . You never see a Judge in court arguing with a 3 year old. It's the same thing.

Don't: Take anything their saying personally. It makes sense to be upset if Kim Kardashian gives weight loss tips, but getting mad when Raspusha calls you fat, is honestly the same difference. It's too hilarious to get mad about.

Do: Walk away. Who cares what they think? People comment on celebrities Instagram pages saying horrible things about them... But they don't care because it's not important and they have other things to focus on.

Don't: Laugh too hard.

All I'm saying is, there are way too many amazing things about life to look forward to, to spend it letting someone with low self esteem bring you down and control your life. It's your life, why not spend it happy.

If I Could Change the World

If I could change the world, simply banishing any (irrational and symbolic) thing in the world, the three things I would get rid of The term 'dreads' , Mathews 4th period, and the entire 2013 sophomore year. Sounds strange but um.. Yes that would be very nice lol.

If we could just vaporize the word 'Dreads', no idiots would ever even think to give themselves that word as a nickname. You wouldn't have to constantly be reminded of stupid guys with that name. Cocky, irritating, horrible, sweet, kind, stupid guys. Lol. Besides, the term is dreadlocks, not dreads. It's common sense right? We live in in America so speak some proper English. Many wouldn't sound so illiterate using that dumb word anyway. So again, that term should definitely go.

Next on the hit list is Mathews 4th period English class. This is because, as about 99% of all Summit High relationships, if that is even what you would call it, they all end. The classroom you used to laugh, take pointless pictures, ignore the teacher ( Sorry Mathew lol) in is now just a reminder of what was and how clearly mentally slow you were for ever getting involved in that in the first place. You avoid where you sat, you randomly remember stupid jokes, that didn't even make sense I might add, and it's completely distracting.

Lastly, I would get rid of the entire sophomore year. This is because, you wouldn't have even met of the complete buttholes that year right? Lol. I wouldn't have met some idiot eating pineapples out of a can without a spoon with nappy hair, then we wouldn't have became friends, fallen in 'love', I wouldn't have broken his heart, he wouldn't have turned into a heartless jerk and the whole thing could've been avoided. Just saying.

My Favorite Mistake

My favorite mistake was running away from my last program. As difficult and stressful as it was. I was able to really learn a whole lot about myself and the people I once surrounded myself with.
I was 17, completely unaware of the direction that my life was headed, careless and very fearless when it came to anything, except confrontation.

I was sitting in my fathers huge, lavish home in Pearland, TX with him yelling in my face telling me I was a bitch and would end up an uneducated stripper "just like my mother" , that I "should go ask for an application at "Micheal's Gentlemens Club", the same place my mom sacrificed her self respect to put food on the table as a single mother, when I was 3 years old.

This was the third and last home visit before Judge Noonan would send me to live with him for good in just a few short weeks after returning to my loving Foster home in American Fork. The move was set in stone. There was no going back. Legally.

It was then and there when I made the decision that no matter what, I would not tolerate being treated so anymore. I was burning with anger, hurt and very quiet about it. It was easy for me to hold it in and disappear, as opposed to standing up for myself, being a woman about it, and addressing the problem, finding other alternatives.

Running away taught me many things. Mental, physical, and sexual abuse isn't something that happens to "other" people. Forced overdose, dying then thanking God for another chance doesn't just happen to "other" people. Watching people get blasted, and being at gun point is, as well, more common then many may think. My Favorite Mistake is running away because it opened my eyes. It was a reminder that it's up to me whether I CHOOSE to live that way or not.

Had it not been for this experience, and in a way, blessing, I wouldn't be where I am today. Graduating on time. Getting a job at Vivint.  (If they accept my request for an interview lol) Applying to UVU next year. On a hella fast path to success.
