5 Goals

The goals I've set have been set with high standards. My main goal of these next few months is to get to independent living. I've said this a million times, but now that I have the means to get there, like a team to help me along the way.

The point of this essay is to give the readers a general idea about my goal and to let them know I plan on achieving it. Nothing can hold me back starting today. I'm breaking out of these chains and washing away the pain and heartache of yesterday and starting new. There's nothing that can hold me back.

1: My main way of getting to my goal is to keep my job. You need a job to maintain an apartment. Now I have a job and it's my job to keep working.  I can't slack off at work, I can't be lazy, I can't do anything to jeopardize the job.  I need to keep it.
And so, in order to do that I have to continue to be on time and to work hard and fast, but accurate, at work. That's what I have to do at work or I'll get fired and no longer have one.

2: So we now move onto bank accounts and credit union accounts. With a job you need to have a savings and checking account or just one or the other.  I will create one at Mountain America Credit Union. But what's a savings account without money put into it?

3: Now I need to save.  My program and judge requires me to have at least 1-2 thousand in savings and to see that I can maintain it without taking any out.  I need to be strict with my money and not spend.  If I need something I will budget. I will not take more than necessary and I will spend wisely and only on what I need, but occasionally indulge in something that'll make me happy.

4: For the time being I will need to prioritize.  I have to prioritize getting my high school diploma and continuing on to college.  If I do that then I can show that I am able to stick with something and be committed to making something work.  If I show interest in college and paying my own tuition then they can see that I'm making an effort.

5: In time I can rent my own apartment. I can continue to show them I can maintain a household amid stresses and issues. I will have to show that I can pay bills and eventually they will let me out of custody as well. The chances I will have to show them I can do it are endless.

Sometimes there will be struggles and bumps along the way, but if I try my hardest then they will put me into independent living and I will have another step in my life to look forward to.  I will start now with some of the goals listed above, but there's are many more things I could do.  Now it's my chance to make this work and I definitely will.

Trends that Should Die with 2014

Changing phone sizes

So, in 2014 phone sizes went up double. I don't think we need phones that large, wide, or big in general. We should quit making them larger.

I think it should stop making them bigger because eventually they'll just become tablets, so what'll tablets be? Will they be small T.V.'s?  And if they are, then what do we call T.V.'s? So on and so forth.

If we continue to make big phones then don't we have to make more ways to help when driving, like a different voice activated system or something while in the lock screen.

Of course there's times where big phones are better, like when old people can't see so well anymore. They need something where they can read text. The issue with that however is that many old people don't like technology while others adapt.

Overall big phone sizes are one of the 2014 things that should go. We shouldn't need something that huge, we should like what we have now and stick with it. Maybe up the systems and processors, but not up the phone size.

Do/Don't Essay

Let me tell you about the complicated sport of dance.  There are three things you should know about dance.  1: It's communication between body and soul.  2: It's not something that you just know right away.  Dance is something that for centuries has connected people in ways that nothing else could.

I've put together a short list of do's and don't's about dancing and it's complexity.

Do:  Try it out.  Don't just try one form of dance, because in the long run you may like ballet OR you might like hip hop.  Try each style of dance so you know you're throwing yourself into something you actually like.

Don't: Try to overdo yourself, your body can only take so much. Don't push to the point where you injure your body.  You need to rest.

Do:  Find a company.  Dancing is better with other people.  You never know, maybe you'll find a dancing partner for life in a company.

Don't: Become so into it that you forget other priorities.  You don't want to get so into dancing that you forget to eat on a regular basis and you stop sleeping enough.

Do: Let yourself be inspired.  Find things in your daily life that make you want to dance.  Dancing is a sport AND art form.  You have to have a reason to dance, whether it be to lose weight, because you need something to do or maybe you want to dance because it makes you feel like you have a connection with something.

Finally, do continue to dance.  Dance is a little like a happiness boost.  If you dance it releases chemicals that give you a natural high.  You should dance whenever you get a free opportunity to do so.  Dance is a passion and a way to escape your own world.

For the love of all holy DON'T quit expanding your knowledge on dance and don't stop practicing. Dance takes effort, of course some people have more of a knack with it, but even those people have to work to be the best.  Like any sport you need to train your body and fine tune it so it works with that sport.  Continue to dance and you'll know what that true connection between body and soul is all about.

If I Could Change the World

If I could change anything in the world, it'd be the school bell, the lights switch and the t.v.

First of all, the school bell.  In this school, Summit High School, there are people who I care about that I would be content never leaving, if the school bell (the day) rang later then we wouldn't have to go home. It could possibly make the other who feel the same way happy as well.  Another reason is that we need knowledge, it can help us grow and change.

Secondly I'd change the lights switch.  The world has so much hate and darkness.  All we'd have to do is flip the switch on a couple people and we could change the way millions of people look at things and possibly how they think.

Third of all I'd change the t.v.  I don't know how people can just sit and do nothing about the things that happen in the world.  The violence on t.v and the poverty and famine, the disease and cruelty.  Whether it be animals or humans, we should do something.  Everywhere in the world it is happening and all some people do is sit and watch it on t.v.  If we didn't have the t.v, would we be helping?

In this world there is enough strife and habitual actions that lead to violence and hate in general.  I love how some people think that they are alive to bring happiness and love to horrible situations, it makes life a bit better for us and some of the chaos is  lessened by these small things.  Caring for a sick child, adopting from foreign countries, sharing food, kindness in speech and actions, and just being a friend to others.

Actions speak louder than words. The ring of the bell, the flash of the t.v and the flip of a Light switch are just a few of the things we can change.  Take your time to help others and even if it's just a kind hello,  do it for the change of the world and yourself.

My Favorite Mistake

I know to this day if I hadn't ever tried weed, I wouldn't be able to try to help others to not try it.

Weed is not a bad substance if used in the correct manner, but otherwise it is a drug.  I regret using it.  It wasn't even that great, and it was temporary.  So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that in reality no drugs are good for you.

We can get high off of happiness and we'd be better off, there's no point in drugs.  Life is not one you're supposed to ruin.

When I was a child I was taken away from my mom who had been an addict to many types of drugs.  She was so deep in it that my 5 siblings and I were taken away from her.

Love comes from the most unexpected people.  I love my mom now, even though we still have issues, no relationship is perfect.  I thought throughout my life how it would be to meet my biological mom, but she was still on drugs when I got the chance in Louisiana.  That made me rethink my decisions, but habits are hard to break.

I still did drugs until about 3 mothers ago.  I got in trouble after I went on the run from proctor care.  I started again and every time you do it gets worse.  My addiction starts and stops often and since there could possibly have been drug use before I was born, I might have a biological connection to it as well, making it more likely to get addicted to it if I try it.

I would never recommend weed to anyone, would never have anyone try it at all.  There are things that should have never been found and weed was a plant we didn't need.  Of course it  can be used for good, but otherwise, no.

Sometimes I wonder if my mom can change now. The more and more you try a substance the worse it gets overtime and the effects it has on your body are not good.

What I'm trying to say is I haven't learned completely from my mistake yet, but I'm strong enough to say that I hope nobody will ever try to use it for bad, which I most definitely think they will, but I hope this makes them think twice.
